Dartfish - Usain Bolt

Jul 30

I got the following email from a colleague in the UK today. I just wanted to share it with everybody.

“I received a call a few weeks ago from an Track and field agent. He said one of his athletes had specifically requested the use of Dartfish and would like to meet.

A few days later I demonstrated Dartfish to the coaches/athletes and management team.  I showed two runners in the analyser and concentrated on the side by side/blend and reversing one picture to synch up their direction of travel.

They are now the proud users of 3 Team Pro’s

The athlete in question:

Mr Usain Bolt. Olympic Champion and World Record Holder for the 100m and 200m.

It is marvellous to see an athlete who has ran 9.69sec for the 100m and 19.30 for the 200m still believes he can improve.  Complacency is the downfall of any champion and it is a scary thought for others who do not see the benefit of analysing their technique leading up to the 2012 Olympics.

This man will go faster with the help of Dartfish.”

If you need help getting more out of your Dartfish system or want to get started with Dartfish, drop me an email. robert.carroll@tocasports.com

Derry v Monaghan Ulster Championship

May 25

Well Derry and Monaghan really went at it on Sunday. Only saw highlights of the game last night on the Sunday game but the analysts weren’t happy. Unfortunately in this battle of 2 Dartfishers there could only be one winner. Johnny Bradley of SINI is the Performance Analyst with Monaghan and Brendan McRory with Derry.

I’m sure both analysts were hard at it in the build up to the game.

Best of luck to Brendan and Derry in the Ulster Championship, and I’m sure that won’t be the last we see of Monaghan in this year’s All Ireland Championship.

3 National Champions

Apr 27

Last weekend was  great one for the Dartfish family. Sligo ran out winner against Antrim in the division 4 final. Sligo are the newest members of the Dartfish family and have had a very positive season so far.

Tipperary won a dramatic division 3 final after extra-time. I even hear Pat Spillane tip them for a potential Munster Final this morning.

The division 2 final was played out by two Dartfishers, Monaghan & Cork. On the day Cork came out winners but I’m sure both sides will be among the final few come the championship.

That made 3 and we were all hoping for a fourth in the Division 1 final but it wasn’t to be this time. Last year’s winners Derry were beaten by a goal. Not to worry, I’m sure after the start Derry have had they will come back fighting in the Ulster Championship.

Well done to all 3 winners and we wish all Dartfishers the best of luck in the Championship.
